New to Bosom Pals?
If you’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer, are going through treatment, or are adjusting to life afterwards, you don’t have to face it alone.
Come along, meet us and see what Bosom Pals is like. There’s no need to book, no pressure to talk and no expectation to join. Just come as you are.
Your first meeting might feel like a big step.
We’ll make it as easy and as welcoming as we can.
What happens at my first meeting?
👋 A friendly welcome
When you arrive, one of us will welcome you and help you settle in. You won’t be left wondering where to go or what to do.
☕ Relax and have a chat
Our meetings are informal and friendly. Grab a drink, sit wherever you feel comfortable and get to know people at your own pace.
💬 Talk as much or as little as you like
Some people want to talk about what they’re going through. Others would rather just listen. Both are absolutely fine.
💙 People who understand
Everyone’s experience of breast cancer is different, but you’ll be among people who understand many of the feelings, worries and practical challenges that can come with it.
Feeling nervous about coming?
That’s completely understandable.
Walking into a room of people you don’t know can feel daunting, particularly when you’re already dealing with breast cancer.
You don’t have to tell us your story. You don’t have to speak in front of the group. And you certainly don’t have to put on a brave face.
Come in, have a cup of tea and see how you feel.
You’ll be very welcome.
Who can come?
You are welcome if…
- You have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer
- You are currently having treatment
- You have had breast cancer in the past
- You are preparing for, or recovering from, breast surgery
- You simply feel you’d benefit from talking to others who understand
What if I come on my own?
Lots of people do.
If you’re worried about walking in by yourself, contact us beforehand. We can arrange for someone to look out for you and welcome you when you arrive.

What should I bring?
Nothing special. Just yourself.
You don’t need medical notes, forms or anything else. Bosom Pals is a support group, not a medical appointment.
If there’s something particularly on your mind, though, feel free to bring your questions. Someone else may have been through something similar.
Support when you need it
Bosom Pals provides friendship, emotional support, practical advice and information, with professional help and support from the Primrose Centre Breast Care Nurses.
Note: Bosom Pals complements the advice and care you receive from your clinical team. We can’t provide medical advice or replace professional medical care.
What about my partner?
A breast cancer diagnosis affects partners too. Bosom Pals also has support available for partners who would like to talk to someone who understands what they’re going through.
