| FAREWELL TO OUR MARY |

Mary joined the Committee in 2004 and organised our speakers and visits and contributed to the smooth running of the Group right up until the end. She will be greatly missed by everyone in the Group. Our President June said these words at her service: "I wanted to say a few words about our Mary - the last time I phoned her was about 6 or 7 days before she went into Hoggerhanger. I myself had been very low for a few months and when Mary asked me how I was, I said "Oh Mary - I'm so much better and am now getting round to doing more" she replied "I'm so very pleased for you, It's been a long time", my first thought was that it was very generous of her considering her problems with all the Chemo, but then I thought NO it was simply Mary being Mary.She will be remembered and missed as a very active member of our Committee, even when she must have felt very ill. She will remain in our thoughts and it was a rare priviledge to have her as our Bosom Pal. |
Sadly, Mary MacKay, one of our Committee passed away in Moggerhanger in September 2008 after a brave and courageous fight.| < Prev | Next > |
