LAUNCH OF PARTNER SUPPORT PDF Print E-mail

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new "Partner Support" which took place at the Clapham Summer Fayre on Saturday 5 June.

This idea came from one of our members husband, Stephen Franks, who has been really keen to set up a Partner Support Group up for some time.

He enlisted the help of Adriana's husband Rod and following an intensive 2-day Buddying and Befriending training course run by MacMillian Cancer Support, they felt confident and ready to offer emotional support to others.

Partner Support is for partner's (male or female) of breast cancer patients.  Partners are usually the main supporter of breast cancer patients but who is there to support the supporter? Friends? Family? Maybe both, this is great, but can you ask those burning questions like, how am I going to cope, what if!! with this and all the fears and emotions that suddenly appear.  We have set up a  place  for partner's, somewhere where you can ask those question that you feel you can't ask your friends or family.

Both Rod and I have had experience of breast cancer with our partner's and can appreciate how hard it is to ask those burning questions.
