Bosom Pals Meetings
Bosom Pals Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 7.30pm to around 9.45pm in the hall of the Church of the Transfiguration, Bedford Road, Kempston, Bedford, MK42 8BQ. This is located opposite Addison Park, between Cleveland Street and Margetts Road. There is plenty of parking both on the driveway down to the church and in the overspill car park adjacent to the hall.
We provide tea or coffee and biscuits at the beginning of the meeting, followed by a talk or demonstration of about 3/4 hour on a large variety of subjects. We usually have an “open” meeting in January, where members come along and just talk to each other about anything and everything. Your first meeting is free, after that we charge an entry fee of £2 per meeting which helps to cover our costs.
Prospective new members are always most welcome to attend one of our meetings to see if they would like to join us.

Samantha Condor, a local Macmillan Welfare Rights Advisor has asked if she can come to this meeting to give a general talk about her role and how she helps people sort out their entitlements to welfare while dealing with cancer treatment. We are hoping that she will give us useful information which we can then share with friends, family and work colleagues even if we ourselves are not in need of any assistance.
There will be home made cake to have with your cup of tea or coffee.

Several members have asked if we could have another social evening so we are organizing a "beetle drive" to give everyone a chance to move around the tables and chat to other members. Don't worry if you have never played before as it is really easy and great fun.
Homemade cakes will be provided with your tea/coffee.

This will be our 2nd social evening for 2019 but this time we will be playing "crazy bag whist" which as most of you know is a very simple game of cards which you will play with a different partner for each game, moving round the room which gives members a chance to meet and talk to each other. Each member needs to bring 3 items unwrapped and in a gift or similar bag which can stand on the floor. One item should be worth each of these amounts - 50p, £1 and £1.50. At the end of the evening everyone should go home with 3 items in their bag but their value will depend on how well they do throughout the evening. There will be some spare filled bags for those who forget theirs which can be purchased from Pauline.
Come and join us for a fun evening with cake served with your tea/coffee.
