Bosom Pals Meetings
Bosom Pals Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 7.30pm to around 9.45pm in the hall of the Church of the Transfiguration, Bedford Road, Kempston, Bedford, MK42 8BQ. This is located opposite Addison Park, between Cleveland Street and Margetts Road. There is plenty of parking both on the driveway down to the church and in the overspill car park adjacent to the hall.
We provide tea or coffee and biscuits at the beginning of the meeting, followed by a talk or demonstration of about 3/4 hour on a large variety of subjects. We usually have an “open” meeting in January, where members come along and just talk to each other about anything and everything. Your first meeting is free, after that we charge an entry fee of £2 per meeting which helps to cover our costs.
Prospective new members are always most welcome to attend one of our meetings to see if they would like to join us.

Frances Woolf will be helping us to relax after the busy Christmas/New Year activities. We will learn how to reduce stress and anxiety and therby improve our wellbeing.
You will be able to do all of this while sitting in a chair, but maximum benefit will be obtained if you bring a mat or towel so that you can lie on the floor.

Jane Helliwell will bring a selection of her hats to embellish her talk, "Perfect Hat, Perfect Day". There will be an opportunity for members to try these hats on after the talk to see what styles suit them best. Very handy if you are going somewhere posh in 2016!

Helen Crabtree will give a talk about post boxes. She will bring some of her collection of mini post boxes.

Sylvia Peacock and some of her team will give an illustrated talk about how they transformed some derelict land into a wonderful garden which grows flowers and vegetables for the surrounding residents. It has won several awards from the Times and Citizen.

Paul Sutherland will be giving an illustrated talk on BOLD which provides useful work experience to adults with learning disabilities. It is located at the old Anglers Rest site on Clapham Road where they run a café, "A Different Brew" which sells a wide range of snacks.

We are having another fun night playing "Crazy Bag Whist" . It's a quite simple card game and a great chance to talk to other Bosom Pal members. You will need to bring a bag containing 3 items, 1 x 50p, 1 x £1 and 1 x £1.50 value. They can be anything at all, i.e. toiletries, food items, unwanted raffle prizes etc. There will be some bags available for purchase on the night if you forget to bring yours. There will also be home made cakes to have with your tea/coffee

Wendy Rider will be bringing one of her dolls houses to show us and will be talking about her housekeeping in miniature.

Iva Barr, local veteran marathon runner and winner of the Point of Light Award will be talking about her marathons and bringing some of her medals for us to see.
It will also be our Macmillan Coffee Event so please come and bring 1 or more female friends to make this a successful fundraising evening for this worthwhile cause. If you would also like to make some cakes for sale that would be even better.
